SHSU's 护理学院 (SON) offers three educational paths:
- Pre-护理 to Bachelor of Science in 护理 (BSN): offered through the Department of Population Health. Typically, 80 - 90 applicants are accepted out of 350+ applications twice a year
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to Bachelor of Science in 护理 (BSN): applicants must have an LVN license
- Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of Science in 护理 (BSN): applicants must have an RN license or be enrolled in an associate degree in nursing program at Alvin Community College, 模拟金属大学, 孤星学院, or Temple College and become a licensed RN before the end of the program.
学生 take a series of prerequisite courses in order to meet admission criteria. The Pre-护理 program at SHSU consists of anatomy and physiology I, anatomy and physiology II, 微生物学, 化学, developmental psychology, 统计数据, 营养, introductory psychology, and additional TX Core Curriculum courses.
